Maternity Ward Tour and Setting Up the Nursery!

Anyone who knows me, knows that I am a Type-A personality who needs to be prepared, organized and have all the information possible to feel comfortable.  That is probably why Lucas and I have signed up for four classes before the baby is born.  The month of March is our weekly Childbirth Series course taught through Cedar Sinai Hospital, where we will be delivering.  During April, we will be taking two classes at The Pump Station, … [Read more...]

And the Third Trimester Begins…

The light at the end of the tunnel is approaching, and its approaching fast!  This week marked the beginning of the end; I am officially in the third trimester.  This means we are full steam ahead and a lot of things will be happening in the next couple of weeks: classes, maternity photos, my mom's visit and our baby shower.  Today is also another milestone for us as I am now 26 years old.  It is hard to believe that we … [Read more...]

Sugar, Sugar, Sugar – Round 2!

If going through the emotional ups and downs of losing my grandpa wasn't enough, I got a call from the doctor saying that I did not pass my 1-hour glucose test.  In order to pass the test, I would have to have a blood sugar level of under 140 and mine was 142.  Ahhh, I was so close!Because of this, I now had to do the 3-hour glucose test.  This test should really be renamed to be the "how strong are you" test because it is one of … [Read more...]

Today the Baby Got Another Guardian Angel…

It is with a heavy heart that I write this next post.  Last week, my grandpa was in a motorcycle accident on his way to visit my grandma's grave.  It was a daily tradition for him since my grandma passed away three and a half years ago to visit her twice a day, once in the morning and once in the afternoon.  It was his way of starting and ending his day with the love of his life.  I don't know two people more in love with each … [Read more...]

Sugar, Sugar, Sugar – Round 1!

Today I had to take my 1-hour glucose test.  For a normal person, I'm sure this wouldn't be too bad, but for me, a person who HATES/LOATHES taking liquid medicines, this was absolutely cruel and unusual punishment.  Ever since I can remember, I have always opted out of taking the liquid version of medicines because I have the gag-reflux of a toddler.  But being that I know I have to be tough for this baby I was willing to take on … [Read more...]

And We are Halfway There!

I truly cannot believe that we have made it halfway there because yesterday, I made it to 20 weeks.  We are officially starting to count down the weeks and days until the baby comes.  Normally at 20 weeks, you can find out the baby's sex and as some of you know, we (let's be honest, its because of Lucas) have decided to not find out the baby's gender until the baby arrives around May 30th.  Now, people that know me know that the … [Read more...]

Christmas and New Years!

As you probably would think since I have been so tired, the holidays for us were nice and low-key.  For Christmas, Lucas' parents went up to San Francisco to visit Will, so we spent the day with the dogs opening presents from family and Santa.  Yes, Santa still comes in our house and since finding out about the baby, will continue to visit for at least another ten years. If I had anything to say, Santa wouldn't ever stop visiting us! … [Read more...]
