First Time Crawling!

crawling

This girl is going to make me go crazy constantly updating the blog with all the new things she is doing.  I have already around 40 posts just for December!  We have all been wanting to see her crawl for days now and she has been so close.  Today when Lucas and I were packing and Puna was playing with Ke'alohi, she started to have this determined look on her face.  My mom instantly knew she was going to do it right then and … [Read more...]

First Time Clapping!

clapping

Even though the excitement of Christmas has died down, our little girl wanted to make sure we knew there was still reason to celebrate.  While we were sitting on the floor playing with her, she started clapping when what we were doing was making her happy.  Sadly, I didn't have the camera with me right when it happened but since then she has been clapping to her hearts content.  Here is one of her clapping the next day.  It … [Read more...]

First Tooth Broke!

tooth

Houston, we have a tooth!  Ke'alohi has been fussy for a couple of days now and we knew that her tooth was coming soon; it was just a waiting game until it broke through her gums.  While we were playing with her new toys we noticed that she was been extremely irritable and then we saw it, the white tooth ridge.  We were all happy and excited but it was just another milestone showing us that our little girl is growing up. Bring on … [Read more...]

Ke’alohi is Officially a Poi Baby!

Ke’alohi’s Baptism

baptism

We have been waiting to baptize Ke'alohi for some time now because we really wanted to do it in Hawaii.  There were a few reasons to do it back home:  The most important reason to us was to have it done at my grandparent's church.  St. John Vianney Catholic Church meant so much to my grandparents who were loyal parishioners for over 35 years.  The last two times I was in that church were for my grandma and grandpa's … [Read more...]

First Time Rocking a Diaper to The Beach!

beach diaper

While we were at the beach house we took the opportunity to initiate Ke'alohi (she's on the left) into the "Local Babies" club by having her rock a diaper as her swimsuit.  You might think that we did this because we didn't have a swimsuit; nope, we did it because every baby in Hawaii does it at one point in their childhood.  We decided to do it today since some of the little kids had their Santa diapers on.  I'm not going to lie, … [Read more...]

First Time Playing in the Sand!

sand

We took advantage of being just feet away from the beach while eating at the Kaimana hotel to take Ke'alohi to the shore to dip her feet in the water and to play in the sand.  At first she cried and didn't like the coldness of the water so then we tried the sand.  It took her a while to get used to the texture of the sand but then she started to dig her toes into it and move around.  I'm not sure who had more fun at the beach, us … [Read more...]
