Ke’alohi’s Baptism

baptism

We have been waiting to baptize Ke'alohi for some time now because we really wanted to do it in Hawaii.  There were a few reasons to do it back home:  The most important reason to us was to have it done at my grandparent's church.  St. John Vianney Catholic Church meant so much to my grandparents who were loyal parishioners for over 35 years.  The last two times I was in that church were for my grandma and grandpa's … [Read more...]

First Time Rocking a Diaper to The Beach!

beach diaper

While we were at the beach house we took the opportunity to initiate Ke'alohi (she's on the left) into the "Local Babies" club by having her rock a diaper as her swimsuit.  You might think that we did this because we didn't have a swimsuit; nope, we did it because every baby in Hawaii does it at one point in their childhood.  We decided to do it today since some of the little kids had their Santa diapers on.  I'm not going to lie, … [Read more...]

First Time Playing in the Sand!

sand

We took advantage of being just feet away from the beach while eating at the Kaimana hotel to take Ke'alohi to the shore to dip her feet in the water and to play in the sand.  At first she cried and didn't like the coldness of the water so then we tried the sand.  It took her a while to get used to the texture of the sand but then she started to dig her toes into it and move around.  I'm not sure who had more fun at the beach, us … [Read more...]

First Time on All Fours!

all fours

Friday is still my favorite day of the week.  Fridays mean that Lucas gets off work early and picks up Ke'alohi and brings her to my office.  When he brought her into the office today some of my coworkers thought it would be cool to teach her how to crawl.  Mommy did NOT think this was cool!  I don't want my little girl moving and shaking.  She is still my "little girl" and I don't want her to grow up too fast. … [Read more...]

Graduating to Gymboree Class – Level 2

gymboree

This week has been full of changes.  It all started with Ke'alohi's six-month doctor's appointment when we talked about giving her water, solids and a sippy cup!  I thought I was done with "big girl" things but then I remembered that we were starting Ke'alohi's new Gymboree class.  She has officially "graduated" from the Play and Learn - Level 1 class and is now in the Play and Learn - Level 2 class.  In Level 1, we primarily … [Read more...]

We Got Ke’alohi’s Ears Pierced!

ears pierced

Yup, we did it; we got Ke'alohi's ears pierced!  After much discussion and consideration, Lucas and I decided that we did want to pierce Ke'alohi's ears now that she is young and we can take care of them.  This way by the time she knows what earrings are and wants to change them as often as she changes her clothes, we will have less of a chance that they will have problems or get infected. Since Ke'alohi had done so well when she got her … [Read more...]

Six Months Old!

Six Months

Six months is half a year!  I cannot wrap my brain around that Ke'alohi has been in our lives for that long already.  It seems like just yesterday we were in the hospital and talking about bringing her home.  This month has just flown by full of many milestones! Ten Facts about Ke'alohi at Six Months: Weighs 20 pounds and measures 27 inches. Rolls over and sits up by herself like a champ! Screeches at her toys … [Read more...]
