Eight-Month Doctor’s Appointment

At this appointment with Dr. Ouchi, Ke’alohi weighed in at 22 pounds, measured 28 inches and her head circumference was 18.25 inches.  I was happy to see that her weight and height were starting to even out now that she is crawling.  Ke’alohi is now in the 97th percentile for weight and in the 80th percentile for height.

Like the last appointment, there were many things to that we talked about starting to introduce to Ke’alohi, like yogurt, meats and cheerios.  Dr. Ouchi also said to start feeding her some table food which completely floored me because I’ve just thought in my head that she would always eat her own food, formula, puffs, teething biscuits and baby purees.

We were all pleasantly surprised when we found out that she would only have to get one shot!  I was still glad that Lucas was there because I just can’t be the one that holds her down.  Ke’alohi was a trooper and barely cried at all after the nurse was done putting her cute Tweety band-aid on her.

We will be going back in two months for her ten-month appointment to check on her progress and luckily at this appointment there will be no shots!

The baby check ups were always bittersweet for me. It was so nice to hear that my kids were healthy and growing but sad to see how fast they grow. Your daughter is beautiful!

I hate check ups. My daughter is now two so it’s worse because she realizes where she is. She immediately gets upset as soon as her name gets called. We bought her doctors kit for Christmas with the hope that she will play with it and her fear will go away. Here’s hoping. I found you through blogaholics. I’m your newest follower.
