Bugaboo Sample Sale!!!

So I have a confession to make; I omitted something from all of you.  When I found out that Bugaboo was having a sample sale this past weekend, I really wanted to tell everyone that I knew that was having a baby or had a baby recently because they are really phenomenal strollers but I was selfish.  They wouldn’t let people know how many strollers they were selling and what accessories they had in stock for the sample sale so I was scared if I let everyone and their mother know about the sale, everyone and their mother would show up.  Hahaha.

I found out about the sample sale from my good friend Kasey.  Now let’s be honest, she is a GOOD friend just for the sheer fact that she told me about it!  I have been having a love/hate relationship with our BOB stroller (another day for that) and was on the prowl for something new.  The Bugaboo sample sale happens once a year and it’s not always the same time each year.  The regular prices of the strollers are quite expensive, but at this sale, they slash their prices by crazy amounts.  From the moment I got pregnant, I “ohhed” and “awed” at their strollers.  I knew I loved the Bugaboo Bee but I just couldn’t justify spending $650 on just the stroller and one canopy.  Luckily, this sample sale was not only selling the Bee, but they were selling it for $400!  Each canopy is normally $50-$60 and they were selling all of them, even the limited edition ones for $25.  All the accessories were up to 80% off in addition which was a selling point in itself.

The sale started at 10am so Lucas and I knew that we needed to be there early.  I got there two hours early and was the fourth person in line so I thought there was a good chance that we could snag a stroller and at least some of the accessories that we wanted.  Kasey, Lucas and Ke’alohi joined me later and were ready to pounce on anyone that stood in our way of a good deal.  They opened their doors at 10 am on the dot and let in the first 20 people.  They were so smart to monitor the chaos by letting people in the store in shifts.  Kasey rushed to the accessories since she already has her Bugaboo Bee and Lucas and I “bee-lined” it to the Bee.  To free our hands, we actually strapped Ke’alohi into the stroller so that we could both grab the accessories we wanted and throw them in the stroller basket and in Ke’alohi’s lap.  It was such an adrenaline rush and I loved every second of it.  We walked away with the Bugaboo Bee stroller, two canopies (one deep purple and one orange), a footmuff, a cupholder, a parent organizer and the travel bag!  We spent about 45 minutes gathering everything and when we left, there was a line that was completely wrapped around the building!  It was crazy and boy were we happy that I got there early!

If we would have bought that at full price, we would have spent over $1,100 for everything and we walked out paying just over $700!  Yes, that is still a crazy amount of money on a stroller but I’m in love!  I can’t wait for all the adventures we will have with this stroller!

Okay, when you were born 25+ years ago, there were no Bugawhatevers. Strollers were priced $15 to the expensive…….$95! Your stroller was $45 which by the way, cup holders weren’t even invented yet for strollers. We just threw our $15 diaper bag over the stroller and the bag held your bottle. The stroller you got looks pretty incredible and dad and I still can’t get over the sticker shock. However, Ke’alohi looks safe in it and for our mo’opuna, safety is what matters! Looking forward to seeing that gorgeous thing in June.
