Project 52:13 | Quick

Motherhood is…

quick

If I’ve learned anything from being a mom, it’s that you have to be quick.  If she is hungry and wants a bottle, she wanted it 10 minutes ago, so you better move fast.  The same thing happens when we feed her solid food because if she is in the “grove” of eating, it means she wants a constant rhythm of food spoon-feed to her.  Tonight though, when I dropped her spoon, I immediately stood up and went to the kitchen to get a new one from the drawer.  I was gone maybe 30 seconds and this is what I came back to.  My first mistake was not having a second spoon with me and the second one was leaving the bowl on her tray.  I was practically asking her to play with her food and boy did she play with it.  Food was everywhere and she was literally eating the food off her arms and the bowl, inside and out.  Yes, it was hilarious, the cleaning however, wasn’t so fun.  Next time I definitely won’t forget the bowl on her tray!

    Aloha,
I love that you share the “funnies” and the “messies” of your life as a mother. It sure is quick. With an 8 year old and a 2 year old I’ve realized it is also true that it’ll go by quick– too quick. I am writing at localsugarhawaii.com and would love it if you’d “grab some sugar” (grab a button) for your page, I’m excited to be adding yours to mine. E komo mai. Come join the ride.

Those pigtails are too cute for words, as is her messy face! & I can totally relate to the eating “groove” with my baby girl. Fun times.
