First Fever…

Now this post isn’t about a good “first,” hence no exclamation point.  When I picked Ke’alohi up from her daycare yesterday, they told me that she was pretty fussy that day and that they thought that she was warm.  Since she has been born, she has never had a fever, even when she had both upper respiratory infections and her ear infection.  The doctors we saw said that she might just be one of those babies that never get a fever.  Well when Lucas got home we took her temperature and it was 100.3, so immediately we called our pediatrician and headed over to Urgent Care.  We didn’t want to mess with this sickness just in case it was something bad.  By the time we checked in and got to see a doctor, her fever was over 101.5 and she was burning up.

It turns out she has a virus and the only thing we can do is Tylenol, lukewarm baths and a little extra TLC.  Today, Lucas and I split the day, I went into work early and came home before lunch and Lucas left for work at lunch.  She is now napping after breaking her fever this morning and hopefully she gets better soon.

So glad she is feeling better. Glad you were proactive with her fever. Fevers can be dangerous if left untreated. You are great parents!
