My Baby Girl,
I truly cannot believe that you are one. You have change my life (and your daddy’s) for the better more than you will ever know. I remember your birth like it was yesterday. I was so excited and nervous and couldn’t wait to get you in my arms. Those first few minutes with you were pure bliss. It was in the operating room, when you were just minutes old when we decided on your name, Ke’alohilani Amelia Jade. ”The brightness of heaven,” seemed so fitting for you since the room was so bright and only something as special as you could have come straight from heaven.
Since that day, you have been shining a light in our lives with your smiles, laughter and, personality. Although you are only one, you have quite a personality, bigger than yourself in fact. I feel so bad for your daddy because he will have to deal with both of us when you get older. Watch out terrible two and the teenage years! You are so full of life and I can’t wait to see what else you have in store for us.
In the last year we have done so much with you; you have been to Missouri to visit Opa and Puna (I can’t wait until you are old enough to fish with Opa and feed the ducks with Puna), Iowa to say good bye to your great-grandma (I hope to take you to the Iowa State Fair for the food and rides) and Hawaii to baptize you and visit Opa, Puna and Uncle Kai (I pray that we can move back as soon as possible so you can know what it’s like to have that kind of childhood). There is so much that I want for you in the future; most of all I want you to be happy and know the love that your daddy and I have for you.
Bringing you into the world was the single most important thing that I have done and is the thing that I am most proud of. Nothing means more to your daddy and I than you.
You are our world… Our everything…
With all the love I possess,
Your Mom
Wonderfully stated!
