ZoLi Bot Straw Sippy Cup Review

I must start this by saying that switching Ke’alohi from a bottle has been a struggle.  We have tried so many different sippy cups that I almost gave up hope that Ke’alohi would ever give up her bottle.  Our quest to find a sippy cup that Ke’alohi would take to started with Born-Free, Avent, Munchkin, Nuby, Nuk and Playtex.  All of these cups were very unsuccessful for us.  Then we decided to skip the sippy cup altogether and go straight for a straw cup.  We have always been a fan of ZoLi products and use their On-The-Go snack dispenser whenever we leave the house for Ke’alohi’s food.

I’m not going to to lie, at first she really didn’t care for it.  She would take a sip or two out of it and then just use it to throw at us or the dogs.  I thought this was going to be another cup that would “bite the dust.”  So, we decided to put it away for a little bit and try one more sippy cup which was the Dr. Brown’s cup.  She took to that cup pretty well and once she got that down for a couple weeks, we brought the ZoLi Bot Straw Sippy Cup back into the picture.  Now it’s her favorite cup and she LOVES it.  Right now she is using this cup during the day and at most of her meals.  The pros about this cup are that it has a weighted straw that allows the straw to always move to where her drink is when the cup is tipped.  Many regular straw cups have a hard straw that only works if the cup is fully upright.  I really like that the top has a cap that stays attached and folds over the straw.  This means that the straw can stay clean and I don’t have to worry about losing caps.  The only drawbacks I see is that the price is a little steep for a sippy cup ($12) and the cup’s straw is not easily cleaned.  You have to buy their cleaning brush that comes with extra straws , which is purchased separate from the sippy cup.

I don’t know how much longer Ke’alohi will need it because of the handles and the smaller capacity but it has been a life saver for us trying to wean her off the bottle!  I would definitely recommend using this sippy cup when transitioning from the bottle!
