Yay, no work today; a whole day as a family in itself sounds like a perfect day to me. We started off the day pretty low key, hanging around the house in our pajamas, my favorite thing to do. After Ke’alohi woke up from her nap, we headed down to South Bay for lunch at one of our favorite places, Furusato Korean BBQ. We haven’t been there for weeks so it was great to get our Korean BBQ fix in. Thankfully Ke’alohi was extremely well behaved and sat in her high chair the whole time nibbling on rice, bean sprouts and sweet potato.
After we finished lunch, we stopped by the Torrance Babies ‘R’ Us because it is by far the BEST store we have been too. We like it so much that it is usually the only store we go to and we actually have to drive farther than three other stores to get to it; it’s that good. The reason why we like it so much is that is a “Baby Superstore” which means that it is a stand-alone store and doesn’t share any space with a Toys ‘R’ Us. This store has about double to triple the amount of things sold at other stores and it has everything from the cheaper brands to the higher end brands. We picked up a USA shirt for Ke’alohi to rock during the Olympics that I am so excited for her to wear.
After that, we went to Third Street Promenade and Century City Mall to get our shopping on; something I’m quite good at. Lucas made one of the biggest discoveries at the Century City Mall, the family lounge. You might think, how can a place where you change poop diapers be that cool; let me tell you, this place is AMAZING. First, there are five changing stations for moms doing diaper changes! Next, there is a microwave and refrigerator to heat or cool your child’s bottles. There are also two private rooms for moms that need to nurse with very comfortable lounge chairs. Off to the side there is a private family bathroom with a miniture toilet to aide with potty training. And lastly there is a sectioned off play area with toys, tables, books, a relaxing bench for parents and even a flat screen TV! Doesn’t that sound like a Mommy’s haven?
What can I say? Only in Los Angeles!
