Living in Los Angeles doesn’t give us much opportunities to ride trains but since the Metro system is so great in Washington D.C., we took full advantage of it and actually didn’t even use our cars the whole time we were there. Kainoa wanted to go to one of his favorite Mexican restaurants that was on the other side of town so we all hopped on the Metro to get there. Ke’alohi loved all the tunnels, lights and noises of the station and the trains themselves. Hopefully Los Angeles, will get on board and create a very functional and efficient system like Washington D.C.
First Time on a Train!

Hawaii is in desperate need of a rail system. Our traffic is horrendous but you know those politicians. After many “research groups” we are still without an alternative transportation system. Let’s face it, there won’t be one during my lifetime.
