Project 52:33 | A Commitment

Motherhood is…

a commitment

There is nothing else in this world that takes more commitment than being a parent.  You are “on call” 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year for the rest of their life.  This week, I got to witness what might be the second biggest commitment you can make; my brother graduating from the U.S. Naval Academy.  The last four years have been long, hard and tough and it’s only the beginning of his life and career in the Navy.   This is him getting his first salute after graduation and being commissioned.  We are so proud of him!

What a great photo of Kainoa and Scott. Can you believe that they went to the same intermediate and high school, then started out together at the Naval Academy, then Scott left the Naval Academy for his 2 year mission for the Mormon Church (a huge commitment in itself) and now Scott is back to finish his 2 years at the Naval Academy. So for Kainoa to get his first salute from one of his best friends is so incredible.
