The White House

Probably the most anticipated place that I wanted to visit had to be the White House.  I mean how can you go the nation’s capitol and not see it?  I was bummed though because it would have been pretty cool if we had gotten to see some action in the house or on the lawn.  Maybe a glimpse of the First Dog, Bo?  We decided when we left the Archives of the United States of America that we were going to walk the 1.6 miles back to our hotel and pass the White House and on that walk Ke’alohi fell sound asleep in her stroller.  The poor girl was so tired and passed out from all the exhaustion of being pushed around and fed all the goldfish she could eat.

As we pulled up to the White House we actually got to see a squirrel that was quite daring and took a few snacks from my brother’s hand.  When we were outside the gates there were tons of people taking pictures, walking by and there were even some tourists on segways.  We were able to find a spot near the center of the White House gate to grab a few pictures before we headed back to the hotel.  Next time, we are definitely going to contact our congressional delegate beforehand to see if we can take a tour of the White House!
