Lovely Day for the Park

IMG_1182

Since we had to go to The Pump Station in Santa Monica, we decided that since it was such a great day we were going to also stop by at the park.  It was beautiful, sunny and warm, but still cool.  There were a ton of people out at the park playing on the playground and picnicking in the grass.  We decided that the next time we come here, we definitely need to bring lunch, whip out our blanket and enjoy the great weather and people all … [Read more...]

Shrimp Tacos

Tacos 2

Shrimp is one of my favorite things to eat, especially when it is Lent.  Every Friday during Lent, Lucas and I have the same struggling question, "What's for dinner?"  I hate, hate, hate that question because it always falls on days that I have meat in the refrigerator or I'm craving a juicy burger.  Hahaha.  These are though totally satisfying and so easy to make! Ingredients: Tortillas 1 Pound Shrimp, Peeled and Devained 1 Cup … [Read more...]

Party Planning: Ladybugs

banner

Ohh Pinterest, how I love and hate you so much.  Pinterest really has a plethora of ideas and knowledge on there but it is dangerous.  There are things that you wouldn't have even thought of but once you see it on Pinterest, you HAVE to do it.  I have liked doing crafts, but I have never been one of those "do it yourself superhero crafty moms" that can make their own kids bedding, clothes and make party planning seem so easy and perfect. … [Read more...]

Project 52:15 | Juggling

IMG_1079

Motherhood is... juggling I think every mom can attest to that fact that motherhood is a lot easier when you learn how to master juggling.  Being a mom in itself is a 24/7 job but when you throw in work, dogs, your husband and any other thing you have going on in your life it makes life a whole lot more complicated.  When we were at Gymboree, I watched as Ke'alohi tried to do her own juggling holding three balls at the same time, dropping a … [Read more...]

100 Foods to Eat Before You Die

The questionnaire

I don't know about you, but I have been seeing this a lot recently on Facebook, so I decided to try this myself.  I found the list at The Daily Dish, and on there it said that of the 100 foods on this list, most people would have only tried about 20 (or less) of them.  At first glace, there were a couple things that I had never heard of and there were a couple things that are so "normal" to me that I didn't understand why they were on this … [Read more...]

Homemade Strawberry Ice Cream

ice cream 2

I love ice cream!  It was always a favorite time of mine when I was a little kid and I saw my dad bring down the ice cream machine.  This machine wasn't like the machines we used today or they have in stores, it was OLD.  All I remember about the machine, was that it was like a large wooden barrel that had big bowl/bucket in the middle that would turn in circles.  When you put the bowl/bucket in the barrel, you would have to put ice and rock … [Read more...]

Happy Easter!

IMG_1109

Today was a great day.  We started off the day by heading over to St. Monica's Catholic Church for the 8 am Easter mass.  This church has always been popular, but it gets extremely crowded and crazy for the church holidays.  We knew that the 9:30 am and 11 am masses would be "mad houses" so we decided the night before that we should go to the early mass to avoid the craziness.  We are so happy that we decided that because even the 8 am mass … [Read more...]
