Project 52:21 | Love

newborn

Motherhood is... love I'm breaking the rules a little bit this week by using and old photo but I promise, I have a good reason.  This day last year, I was put on bedrest and told that if my blood pressure didn't come down by the next day, that they would have to induce me.  In two days, my little girl will be one and that day marks one year from when I learned what true, unconditional love means.  I grow to love her more and more each … [Read more...]

Project 52:20 | A Roller Coaster

Roller Coaster

Motherhood is... a roller coaster I think every mother can attest to the fact that motherhood takes you on a emotional roller coaster.  You experience the most unbelievable highs (like when they take their first steps) and some of the lowest lows (when your baby is colicky and has been crying for hours) when you embark on this adventure; all you can do is hold tight and stick along for the ride. If you want to see more blogs also … [Read more...]

Project 52:19 | Growing Up

IMG_1269

Motherhood is... growing up I still can't believe that she took her first steps yesterday!  My little girl is growing up.  I've learned so much since becoming a mother and realized that it doesn't matter how old or young you are, motherhood makes you grow up and look at life differently. If you want to see more blogs also participating in Project 52 check out Aubrey My Love, Blossoms and Vintage, Caynay Photography, Courtney Kirkland … [Read more...]

Project 52:18 | Early Mornings

IMG_1246

Motherhood is... early mornings Lucas and I were never ones to sleep in until 11 am or noon on the weekends but we did take our time to get out of bed on and sometimes it would be pushing 9 or even 10 in the morning, back in the old days.  All of that flew right out of the window when we had Ke'alohi and our "sleeping in" means 7:30 or 8 in the morning, whenever the little one wakes up.  Ohh how our life has changed, but on the bright side … [Read more...]

Project 52:17 | Unexpected

IMG_1209

Motherhood is... unexpected There are so many things I thought I would or wouldn't do as a mom before I had Ke'alohi.  I never expected to be making homemade babyfood, wanting to stay at home with Ke'alohi instead of work and I never in a million years expected I would use cloth diapers.  I was alway intrigued by them, but they were always kind of a novelty that I would brush aside as something that just "wasn't for me."  Well, this week … [Read more...]

Project 52:16 | Laundry… Tons of Laundry

IMG_1203

Motherhood is... laundry... tons of laundry Let's be honest, when you become a mom, you are accepting the fact that your laundry loads will double, maybe even triple.  I swear I have done more laundry in the last 10.5 months with Ke'alohi then I have in the first two years of my marriage with Lucas combined!  I usually do laundry twice a week, two or three loads each time which isn't horrible but when you forget or let it slide, you're … [Read more...]

Project 52:15 | Juggling

IMG_1079

Motherhood is... juggling I think every mom can attest to that fact that motherhood is a lot easier when you learn how to master juggling.  Being a mom in itself is a 24/7 job but when you throw in work, dogs, your husband and any other thing you have going on in your life it makes life a whole lot more complicated.  When we were at Gymboree, I watched as Ke'alohi tried to do her own juggling holding three balls at the same time, dropping a … [Read more...]
