My Mommy List | Pregnancy

In the spirit of Mother’s Day weekend, I compiled a list of a couple items that were life-savers and got me through the pregnancy, besides Lucas of course.  Some of these items are maternity clothes staples, favorite snacks and some are pregnancy products; all things that I loved while I was pregnant with Ke’alohi and got me through the 9 months.

  • Girlfriend’s Guide to Pregnancy – Yes, I read “What to Expect When You’re Expecting,” but at our first doctor’s appointment when I started asking my doctor a billion questions based on what I had read in that book he told me to put it down and that it would drive me nuts.  A friend sent me this book and I loved it because it was so funny and told me everything I needed to expect with plenty of wit to keep me entertained.
  • Palmer’s Cocoa Butter – I’m not going to lie, I still got stretch marks, probably because I wasn’t religious about using this stuff but out of all the things I used, this one kept me the most moisturized, without ever feeling greasy or sticky.
  • Leachco Preggle Body Pillow – I started getting uncomfortable at about four months and that is when we decided to go out and get a pregnancy body pillow.  I don’t know who loved this more; me, Lucas or the dogs because we all fought over it!
  • Three Lollies Preggie Pop Drops – I had such bad morning sickness from the day I found out I was pregnant until I was six months pregnant and then the nausea came back in my last month.  These pops really did help control my nausea and the sour ones were the ones that worked the best on me.
  • Gap Demi Panel Perfect Boot Pants – Since I worked literally up until the day I gave birth, maternity work pants were a must and these were by far the best ones I bought.  I never had a problem with them staying up or irriating my belly and were perfect from when I started using them at five months pregnant and on.
  • Gap 1969 Demi Panel Sexy Boot Jeans – This was another staple item I had in my maternity wardrobe.  This was the only pair of maternity pants I bought or needed.  What I loved about them best was that they stayed up and didn’t look or feel like maternity jeans.  Major plus!
  • Bravado Body Silk Seamless Nursing Bra – This is the only thing I am going to put on the list that I wish I had gotten.  Like I said in my “What to Pack in Your Hospital Bag” post, I wish I had purchased a nursing bra.  It would have made the end of my pregnancy, hospital stay and the beginning of having Ke’alohi a whole lot easier and way more comfortable.
What was your favorite thing while you were pregnant?
