What to Pack in Your Hospital Bag

hospital bag

With one of my friends having her baby this week, it's got me thinking about my own hospital experience and specifically what I packed in my hospital bag.  To say that I was in denial at the end of my pregnancy and totally lagged on packing my hospital bag is an understatement.  We had most of the essentials packed away in our little suitcase, but it was missing A LOT!  After I was unexpectedly induced into labor after a routine doctor's … [Read more...]

Diaper Blowout of the Century!!!

IMG_0752

Today started like any other morning.  Lucas wakes up first, then I do and then we check to see if the little munchkin is awake or still asleep.  She was awake, sitting up and playing in her crib.  It looked like she was just looking down and playing with her feet and the blanket but we were wrong, very wrong.  Ke'alohi had the "Blowout Diaper of the Century" was was literally playing in her own poop and spreading it on the sheet.  We … [Read more...]

First Time Waving!

Waving

The daycare told us this week that Ke'alohi is just starting to wave but it is not usually on command.  She just aimlessly moves her arm around in a waving motion but her hand flops over at her wrist.  It is quite funny and cute.  This weekend we have been working with Ke'alohi to try to wave at people when they say hi but her first time doing it on command with us was this afternoon.  Ke'alohi loves watching the washing machine spin when a … [Read more...]

St. Patrick’s Day!

Gymboree

It's St. Patrick's Day aka "Green" Day!  Our lives have changed "slightly" this year so we had to put away the green beer and think of something else that we could do as a family that was more "appropriate."  Since it's also the month of Dr. Suess' birthday we decided to celebrate by making green eggs and ham.  But being that I am from Hawaii, we decided to make GREEN EGGS AND SPAM!  It rhymes and I swear spam tasted way better than ham.  I … [Read more...]

Visiting Susie and Xenophon in the Hosptial…

Susie

After Lucas and I finished work today, we headed over to the San Gabriel Valley Medical Center to visit Susie and baby Xenophon.  I can honestly say that I have never held a baby that small.  Ke'alohi was born at 8 pounds, 9 ounces, so holding Xenophon's 7 pounds was like lifting air.  Hahaha.  He was such a quiet and sleeply little boy and the only time he woke up was when he had a blowout meconium diaper.  That stuff was everywhere and … [Read more...]

Project 52:11 | Silly

IMG_0710

Motherhood is... silly Ke'alohi has a new trick; she is obsessed with sticking out her tongue.  Her favorite time to stick out her tongue is when she sees a flash on the camera or iPhone, hence this picture.  I don't really know where she learned it from (maybe Daddy taught her it behind Mommy's back?) but she thinks its hilarious and cracks herself up over it.  What a silly girl! If you want to see more blogs also participating in … [Read more...]
