2012 Ho’ike!

Hoike Puili

My hula halau puts on a "ho'ike" or performance every year in the spring.  Tonight was the second time we have attended and watched the beautiful singing and dancing.  I still can't believe that I have been apart of this wonderful group of dancers and women for almost two years now.  I started back in May 2010 and within days, these women took me in as one of their hula sisters.  In October of that same year, Lucas and I found out that we … [Read more...]

Bugaboo Sample Sale!!!

bugaboo-sale

So I have a confession to make; I omitted something from all of you.  When I found out that Bugaboo was having a sample sale this past weekend, I really wanted to tell everyone that I knew that was having a baby or had a baby recently because they are really phenomenal strollers but I was selfish.  They wouldn't let people know how many strollers they were selling and what accessories they had in stock for the sample sale so I was scared if I … [Read more...]

Project 52:13 | Quick

Unconvential

Motherhood is... quick If I've learned anything from being a mom, it's that you have to be quick.  If she is hungry and wants a bottle, she wanted it 10 minutes ago, so you better move fast.  The same thing happens when we feed her solid food because if she is in the "grove" of eating, it means she wants a constant rhythm of food spoon-feed to her.  Tonight though, when I dropped her spoon, I immediately stood up and went to the kitchen to … [Read more...]

Homemade Meatballs

Meatballs 2

This is a first from me because I am putting one of my own recipes on here!  I love watching the Food Network channel and I remember one time watching Anne Burrell making her own meatballs and I was in awe.  I knew that I wanted to make my own but I didn't want to have to use a ton of ingredients to do so.  My motto now that I am a mom is to "KEEP IT SIMPLE," and these are so easy to make that I can do them in about 20 minutes from start to … [Read more...]

Ten Months Old!

10 Months

TEN MONTHS...  We are officially in double digits and I don't like it one bit.  I have actually thought about maybe just skipping this month-aversary altogether and then regrouping next month.  Hahaha. Seriously though. Ten Facts about Ke'alohi at Ten Months: 1. Weighs 22 pounds and 13 ounces and measures 29.5 inches. 2. Uses her walker like its a bumper car and loves ramming into walls (and our feet). 3. Sees everything and anything as … [Read more...]

Saying Good-Bye to Puna…

puna

This morning, Puna went back home to Hawaii.  We were all very sad to see her go because we had so much fun hanging out. Ke'alohi was especially disappointed because my mom was able to spend a ton of time with her playing and giving her baths.  Ke'alohi loves water just as much as my mom and they had a blast hanging out in the kitchen sink splashing water to their hearts' content. She will be missed tremendously but we are excited that we will … [Read more...]
