Red Velvet Pancakes with Cream Cheese Glaze

IMG_0328

I have decided to start a new tradition for Valentine's Day.  I am going to make red velvet pancakes for breakfast each year for Lucas and Ke'alohi.  Now, this recipe is no where near as good as Cinnamon's back home, but it will do the trick and satisfy my craving for Red Velvet.  I tried out this recipe, that I found on Pinterest, and loved how they came out and will probably be looking out for more holidays and reasons to make … [Read more...]

Lucas Has Officially Been Baptized

Lucas Pee

No, it's not what you think; Lucas was baptized in the Church when he was a baby.  Lucas, however, has not been "baptized" by Ke'alohi yet.  Tonight, on the way from the changing table in her nursery to the bath tub, Ke'alohi peed on Lucas!  It was the funniest thing I have ever seen in my life and I almost peed myself; like mother like daughter. Lucas was as horrified as he looks in this picture and is taking extra precautions from now on … [Read more...]

Susie and Mike’s Baby Shower

Baby Shower 1

Today we headed out to La Puente for Susie and Mike's baby shower.  I've worked with Susie for almost three years now and was thrilled when I got back from my maternity leave to find out that she was expecting!  They are pregnant with a little boy that is already loved by so many!  The afternoon was filled with love, games, presents, food and sweets! There were a few of us from work that attended and sat together together during all the … [Read more...]

First Time Eating Meat!

First Meat

Of all the great milestones in Ke'alohi's life, yet another happened at Korean BBQ.  Yes, I know, we go there way more than I'd like to admit, but come on, it's $9.99 for all you can eat!  Where else can you eat for ten bucks that comes with all the soup, salad, rice, vegetable sides and meat you want?  I rest my case.  Since Ke'alohi is a lot more intrigued with our food when we eat, we decided to break up a piece of meat for her to try. … [Read more...]

Pancakes and Cars

Car

Since Ke'alohi got her first kiss last week, we thought, "why not let her drive her own car?"  Hahaha, just joking.  The CFO of my company and his wife were so nice to give some of their daughter's things and this week they passed down to us a Pack 'n' Play and a Barbie WV motorized car.  Though she is way too young to really play with this right now, we decided to let her use it to pull herself up on and climb into the driver's seat.   She … [Read more...]

Creamy Shrimp and Mushroom Pasta

Pasta 2

I am always looking for new recipes on Pinterest, especially ones that are quick to cook and yummy.  I was intrigued by this one since I had most of the ingredients and because I would be making my own sauce.  All it all, it was a great meal and I was able to put it all together in less that 20 minutes! Love! Ingredients: 8 Ounces Linguine Pasta 1/2 Cup Butter, Divided 8 Ounces Fresh, Sliced Mushrooms 2 Garlic Cloves, Minced 4 … [Read more...]

Project 52:6 | Little Surprises

IMG_0273

Motherhood is... little surprises It's the little surprises in life that let you know how blessed you are to have some people in your life.  This week we got a box in the mail full of clothes and a pair of the cutest boots in the world from one of my high school friends, Jayme.  Jayme lives in Oregon, and although I haven't seen her in years, she has completely showered us with love and little (well big) surprises like this one on multiple … [Read more...]
