Cloth Diapering | Washing Your Diapers

FB-DiaperStack-241x300

One of the most daunting things when deciding whether or not you are going to cloth diaper is washing the diapers.  When I first brought up the idea of cloth diapering Lucas's first comment was "I don't want to touch poop."  He made it veryclear that I would be the one that washes the diapers.  After I did some research and talked to other cloth diapering moms I realized that it was actually quite easy to wash the diapers. The system we use … [Read more...]

ZoLi Bot Straw Sippy Cup Review

zoli

I must start this by saying that switching Ke'alohi from a bottle has been a struggle.  We have tried so many different sippy cups that I almost gave up hope that Ke'alohi would ever give up her bottle.  Our quest to find a sippy cup that Ke'alohi would take to started with Born-Free, Avent, Munchkin, Nuby, Nuk and Playtex.  All of these cups were very unsuccessful for us.  Then we decided to skip the sippy cup altogether and go straight … [Read more...]

PASSED!!!

passed

Can you sense my excitement from the title of this post?  If I could write this whole post in caps I totally would!  We have been hoping, praying and waiting for this day for months and we can finally say that LUCAS PASSED HIS CPA EXAM!  Ke'alohi and I are so unbelievably proud of Lucas for passing his last exam making him eligible for this CPA license. Motherhood is... trial and error You can have all the "best" baby products in the world, but you never know if your baby will actually like them.  So much of getting through the first year of Ke'alohi's life was trial and error; between bed time, bathing, toys, feeding and keeping her occupied we have tried most everything in pursuit of what worked best for our family.  A perfect example for us is sippy cups.  As you can see, we have gone … [Read more...]

Seven is a Party!

teeth 1

Ke'alohi's seventh tooth officially broke through and we can officially say, "there's a party in her mouth!"  LMU students would always laugh that dorm advisors and public safety (LMU's on-campus guards) deemed any group larger than six hanging out in a dorm room a party. She is using her teeth more than ever now with her "big girl" foods and for biting Mommy and Daddy when we try to give her snacks straight into her mouth. … [Read more...]

Amazing Video!

I came across this video while I was on Facebook and my jaw literally hit the floor.  These girls are 12 (Lennon) and 8 (Maisy) and have so much talent at such a young age.  I had to share because I'm sure that one day at least one of these girls will be famous or on American Idol. Hope you enjoy this video! … [Read more...]

Another One of My Many Quirks: Popcorn

IMG_1608

You all probably think, "How can you be quirky when it comes to popcorn?  All you need is popcorn and butter."  You my friends are greatly mistaken.  There are so many ways to eat popcorn and my favorite way to eat popcorn is called "hurricane popcorn."  To make hurricane popcorn you first have the popcorn and butter and then you add furikake (a Japanese topping usually used for rice that has seaweed, sesame seeds and salt) and arare/mochi … [Read more...]
