Visiting Yaya and Yayo

IMG_0410

After yesterday's graduation, we packed up our things and Ke'alohi and headed to Fredericksburg, about two hours southeast from Annapolis to visit Lucas' grandparents.  It is very sad to say this, but this is the first time that I have met them and it has been almost ten years since Lucas has seen them last.  We were all so excited to spend the day and night together so they could meet Ke'alohi. Right when we got there, Yayo was ready with his … [Read more...]

Project 52:33 | A Commitment

Commitment

Motherhood is... a commitment There is nothing else in this world that takes more commitment than being a parent.  You are "on call" 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year for the rest of their life.  This week, I got to witness what might be the second biggest commitment you can make; my brother graduating from the U.S. Naval Academy.  The last four years have been long, hard and tough and it's only the beginning of his life and … [Read more...]

Kainoa’s Graduation!

Mom and Dad

I still can't believe that my brother is a college graduate!  I still think of him as my "little" brother that tagged along, poked and wrestled with me and would fight over the TV remote every chance he got.  Not only is he an adult, but he is a Naval Officer now.  Whoa!  We were all so excited to share this special day with my brother and that so many people made it for Kainoa's big day.  Uncle Larry and Aunt Lisa flew in from Minnesota and … [Read more...]

Touring the U.S. Naval Academy Campus

Bancroft Hall 1

I was lucky enough to go to Loyola Marymount University, which is ranked 7th on the list of "The 50 Most Beautiful College Campuses."  Today, we got to visit #18 and I'm not going to lie, I was surprised that it wasn't ranked higher because the campus was breath taking.  It might be because I was in awe of the whole place, but walking around the campus literally gave me chills because of all the history and significance it has.  My mom and dad … [Read more...]

Best.Flight.Ever.

sleeping beauty

If I could do a whole blog post and only use a handful of words it would be those three: best flight ever.  I think traveling on the red-eye flight helped us tremendiously with Ke'alohi because she slept like a champ.  As we were taxiing from our gate to take off, Ke'alohi fell asleep drinking her bottle.  At the time, we had no idea that that would be the last time she would be awake for nearly 8 hours!  Our flight landed in Dulles … [Read more...]

Last Gymboree Class…

Last Gymboree 1

It's hard to believe that we have been going to Gymboree classes for just over a year now.  Ke'alohi and I started to go to them when she was just six weeks old at the end of July last year.  We have been through rolling over, crawling and walking with the teachers there and we will miss them dearly. Right now, Ke'alohi just doesn't have the attention span and excitement for the classes anymore.  We are bummed but hopeful that we can find … [Read more...]

Project 52:32 | Long

Long

Motherhood is... long Some days are longer than others and some weeks are longer than others; this week was one of those.  Lucas was out again all week on a business trip leaving Mommy to take care of our circus of one toddler and two dogs.  We are all very happy that Daddy is back and even more happy that he is her this weekend to help with Ke'alohi's haircut to trim those bangs. If you want to see more blogs also participating in Project … [Read more...]
